Blueprint Salon Software
Blueprint is a salon planning tool that helps stylists and clients plan future services, providing clarity and reducing guesswork. The platform supports long-term planning, making it easier to schedule services and understand what to expect.
The Problem
Salon workflows are typically built around individual appointments, requiring stylists to track client history, timing, and future needs mentally or across disconnected tools. At the same time, clients expect the convenience of online booking but often lack the understanding needed to choose the right services. This creates a disconnect—clients assume they are booking the same appointment each visit, without realizing that services, timing, and pricing change based on their hair, goals, and maintenance cycle.
Product Concept
The idea for Blueprint came from this gap between client expectations and how salon services actually function. Each appointment is made up of different services, all operating on their own timing cycles influenced by hair condition, growth, and long- and short-term goals. Without a system to support this, both the stylist and client rely on memory, leading to confusion around what to book, when to book it, and what to expect.
Blueprint introduces a structured way to map out future appointments, giving both the stylist and client a clearer understanding of what comes next.
UX/UI Design
Stylists are often resistant to change and tend to dismiss new tech tools as overly complicated or time-consuming to incorporate into their daily salon routines. Therefore, it was crucial for Blueprint to seamlessly integrate with the salon software they already use, have an intuitive and straightforward experience while making its potential value immediately obvious. The system is designed to guide users through each step in a way that feels familiar and easy to follow, reducing friction and avoiding. The interface supports this by prioritizing clarity and simplicity, helping stylists quickly understand how to use the tool without feeling overwhelmed.
Brand Design
The brand was built around the name Blueprint, which reflects the core idea of creating structure and guidance for both stylists and clients. While other names were considered, Blueprint best captured the concept of mapping out a clear, intentional plan over time.
The visual direction draws directly from traditional architectural blueprints, reinforcing the idea of planning, structure, and precision. This influence carries through the design system, supporting the product’s role as a tool built to guide and organize rather than overwhelm.
